EVs are the official cars of the Bali 2022 G20 summit – Toyota bZ4X, Genesis Electrified G80, Hyundai Ioniq 5


Electric vehicles (EVs) will be the official vehicle of the G20 Bali 2022 summit that Indonesia will host in November this year. The largest country in ASEAN is currently the rotating chair of the Group of 20, which includes the US, European Union, UK, China and India, among others, as members.

The Toyota bZ4X is exciting because it’s super new and only started shipping in major markets this year. In ASEAN, Toyota’s first all-purpose electric vehicle has not been sold in Indonesia and will only be hit Thai showrooms by the end of 2022. Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM) has confirmed that the bZ4X will go on sale in Indonesia, although they did not specify when or how (rental only in Japan).

Based on the electric version of the Toyota New Global Architecture (e-TNGA), which was developed in conjunction with Subaru, the company has its own model called the Toyota New Global Architecture (e-TNGA). One 71.4 kWh lithium-ion battery provides one 516 km range on WLTP . cycle with a single engine and 470 km with a dual engine setup. The vehicle supports DC fast charging up to 150 kW, making the battery 80% full in just 30 minutes; it can also accept AC charging up to 6.6 kW, with an integrated 11 kW charger to be provided later.

Genesis Electrified G80 is the first EV of Hyundai’s luxury car brand. It’s basically a battery-powered version of the sleek third generation sedan arrives in 2020.

The 5-meter electric car rivals executive salons like the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and BMW 5 Series with dual AWD engines with a combined output of 365 hp (272 kW) and 700 Nm. The battery is an 87.2 kWh lithium ion polymer. Range is rated at 427 km in the Korean domestic cycle.

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 needs no introduction. The Dominate 2022 Car of the Year (it is also the owner of the World Electric Vehicle of the Year award in 2022 and the World Automotive Design of the Year award in 2022) is Launched in Malaysia in March, and priced from RM199,888. This huge hatch can be powered by a 58 kWh battery and rear-wheel drive, and in dual AWD form with a 72.6 kWh battery.

In Indonesia, Ioniq 5 is locally produced in new Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (HMMI) factory, located 40 km east of Jakarta in the Deltamas industrial complex near Cikarang.
