2024 BYD Atto 3 in Malaysia – only 1 variant; new rear badging, 15.6-inch display; 345 km electric range; RM149,800
Sime Darby Motors updated BYD Atto 3 for the 2024 model year, with changes made to the EV’s variant list, design and kit.
Starting with the variant lineup, the Atto 3 2024 is no longer offered in Extended range enclosure (previously priced at RM168,430), leaving only one option (the variant formerly known as the Standard Range) available at a unchanged price of RM149,800 before on-road costs or RM150,430 on-roads no insurance .
The powertrain also remains the same, with a front-mounted electric motor rated at 204 PS (201 hp or 150 kW) and 310 Nm of torque for slower 0-100 km/h acceleration. a little in 7.9 seconds. Powering the engine is a Blade lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack capable of running up to 410 km according to NEDC standards (345 km WLTP).
For charging, the Atto 3 supports a maximum AC input (Class 2) of 7 kW as well as a DC input (CCS2) of 70 kW, the DC input is capable of taking the battery from a 0-80% state of charge in 45 minutes . There is also a truck (V2L) function to power other devices.
In terms of design changes, the Atto 3 now has a black (previously white) fin trim on the rearmost pillar, while the ‘Build Your Dreams’ lettering on the rear door has been replaced with BYD logo – here it is announced by the Chinese automaker last year.
Color options have also been revised, with Surf Blue, Ski White and Boulder Gray returning. There is now a new Cosmos Black color on offer but we say goodbye to Forest Green as well as Parkour Red.
In terms of color, the interior features a new Black/Dark Blue theme that replaces Dark Blue/Light Gray (previously known as Eclipse Blue/Matte Gray). These themes depend on the exterior color, with Black/Dark Blue available with Cosmos Black or Boulder Grey, while Dark Blue/Light Gray is paired with Ski White and Surf Blue.
In terms of equipment changes, the Atto 3’s rotating infotainment touchscreen has been expanded to 15.6 inches diagonally from 12.8 inches previously. Compared to the previous spec sheet, the new-for-2024 Atto 3 also features the multi-colored ambient lighting system and wireless charging dock of the previous Extended Range.
In addition to these adjustments, the rest of the equipment list of the Atto 3 2024 is the same as the previous updated Standard Range and includes 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, adaptive front lights, LED taillights, Electric panoramic sunroof, 5-inch screen. digital instrument cluster, synthetic leather upholstery, automatic climate control, Android Auto (wired) and Apple CarPlay (wireless) support, six-speaker sound system, keyless entry and start lock and air filter CN95.
Safety and driver assistance systems are six airbags plus center airbag, ABS, ESC, traction control, EBD, hill descent control, front and rear parking sensors, 360-degree camera, automatic braking hold, automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control with stop and go function, rear collision warning, blind spot monitoring, door open warning and cross traffic warning horizontal rear.
Every purchase comes with a 6-year, 150,000 km factory warranty, and the Blade battery has an 8-year or 160,000 km warranty. There is another separate warranty for the transmission – eight years or 150,000km for the motor, motor controller, DC assembly and electrical control assembly.
Customers can also choose to purchase Standard or Plus service plans, the former priced from RM1,688 to RM4,888 with coverage ranging from three years or 60,000km to eight years or 160,000km. The latter covers more service items and is offered with 6 years, 120,000km or 8 years, 160,000km options for RM11,688 or RM17,688.
