MATCH PREFERENCE
The Mumbai Indians are over IPL 2022 Chennai Super Kings playoff hope and on its next path, at Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday, is the assassin Sunrisers Hyderabad, which needs to win to survive.
A 54-match loss to Kolkata Knight Riders dented the Sunrisers’ hopes of reaching the last four. But it’s still passable with 14 points. However, its poor NRR of -0.270 makes quality control a difficult task.
As a barometer for the Sunrisers Hyderabad, captain Kane Williamson was pretty accurate. His polishing woes mirror SRH’s.
In IPL-15, SRH had the worst PowerPlay run speed (6.80). Williamson has scored 208 runs with an strike rate of 92.85 – the worst of any hitter with a 100-run minimum this season. But SRH lives on with its Williamson-Abhishek Sharma opening formula, despite options at Rahul Tripathi and Aiden Markram.

SRH head coach, Tom Moody, after the last game, explained that it is not a good idea to adjust the midfield that is working well. While he may be right – SRH has the second best run rate (8.58) between 7 and 16 – Williamson’s PowerPlay hit rate of 76.38 is giving the middleweights too much work to do. do. Instead, Williamson could hit in 3, where he averaged 39.62 with 128.21 strike rate in IPL and Tripathi in openable.
In bowling, the return of T Natarajan and Washington Sundar is good news even though the duo had a total of 83 runs in 8 rounds and lost only 1 match to KKR.
The Mumbai Indians, too, have faced top-order issues, but the arrival of Tilak Varma – 368 running in 12 innings – has been a silverware. Varma, along with the almighty Hrithik Shokeen, played his first ever IPL season, putting MI into a win over CSK with a mature 48-game spot after initial woes.

Tristan Stubbs was given the right to make his IPL debut in the final game against CSK, with Kieron Pollard making way for the underrated South African smasher. Even though Stubbs was gone for a duck, MI is likely to stick with him with an eye on the future.
Jasearch Bumrah’s return to wicket ways in the second half of the IPL boosted MI even more. Bumrah enjoys bowling at Wankhede, where he has the third highest batting in the IPL – 37 hits in 34 games for an economy of 7.72. His battle with the highest rank SRH could be decisive.
While for the Sunrisers it is now a win or lose bet, Mumbai will continue to explore the stability of its talent to recover its title bid next season.
