UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) ended the first quarter of 2023 successfully with total sales in March of 9,136 units; 9,026 from Toyota and 110 from Lexus. Last month’s sales were the highest in Q1. Along with that, the number of registrations year-to-date in Q1 was 25,219 units, 12% higher than 22,447 units in Q1 2022.
Last month saw the birth of New Toyota Vios, a great product for the company. “The all-new Vios demonstrates our commitment to providing our customers with the best vehicle and ownership experience. It is definitely a model that we are proud to bring to market and we hope more Malaysians will be able to enjoy driving the Vios,” said UMWT President Datuk Ravindran K.
In other news, UMWT hosted a tree planting event organized by the Malaysian Nature Association in Tanjung Tuan, Melaka in conjunction with the Raptor Watch 2023 event. UMW Green Shoots Initiative supports the 100 Million Planting Campaign national greenery and in line with the three goals of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG). It also aligns with Toyota Motor Corp’s commitment to be carbon neutral by 2050.
Mangrove seedlings were planted to support the restoration of the mangrove swamp ecosystem in Tanjung Tuan, which was destroyed by the oil spill in 2020. Up to 6,100 trees were planted by 250 volunteers including 250 volunteers. including UMWT staff, students and teachers from Putra University Malaysia, Politeknik Port Dickson and Taylor University.
