UMW Toyota Motor to launch GR Corolla, GR86 and GR Supra with 6-speed manual transmission in Malaysia


UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) will add several GR models to its lineup next year, including the GR86, Corolla GR and GR Supra with manual transmission. This is according to UMWT president Ravindran Kurusamy, who revealed the news at a media event today.

At the moment, the company does not provide a timeline for when these models will be released, but they will be alongside other models already introduced in Malaysia, namely the GR Yaris and GR Supra – the latter. equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Focus on each car, the GR Supra with one six-speed manual transmission is the most recent product to launch globally. Gearbox is exclusively paired with 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six engine for 387 PS (382 hp) and 500 Nm of torque.
