Restoration of Moto Martin by Cafe Racer SSpirit Impressive racing bikes, powerful engines, and race-focused gear—what more could you want? That’s exactly the kind of product you get when you order a Moto Martin.

Founded by Frenchman Georges Martin in 1972, Moto Martin manufactured bikes in a similar way to Bimota’s. They fitted the latest, most powerful engines to custom frames, wrapped them in new bibs and adorned them with premium suspension and brakes.

All these years ago is what the original owner, Jorge, did with suzuki katana 1100 bike sponsors. He bought the big Kat and took it to Moto Martin, where it was completely converted without much cost. All that remains of the original car is the engine, carburetor and speedometer.

Fast forward to today (after 21,000 miles) and Jorge’s Martin looks a bit worse in wear. Jorge decided to tear down the bike with the intention of starting his own recovery — but sadly, he was soon diagnosed with ALS and was unable to continue. So he sold the car to the Cafe Racer SSpirit team in San Sebastian.

The entire bike has been treated to restore nuts and bolts, not a single aspect of the bike is intact. The Chromoly frame is welded in bronze, and the Moto Martin suspension and wheels are breathtaking. Everything is perfect, down to the beautiful paintwork and fiberglass, completed by Sergio at Classic Garage Motorcycles.

The project took over a year to complete—but Jorge tragically passed away before he could see his old bike in its glory. The team at Cafe Racer SSprit has successfully completed the task of bringing the car back from the brink. We’re sure Jorge is looking down with pride. [Via]

Triumph Street Twin customized by Motone
Motone’s Triumph Street Twin The Triumph Street Twin is one of our favorite bikes in the British brand’s modern classic lineup. The accessible 900 cc water-cooled engine, combined with the comfortable ergonomics of the larger Bonneville series, made the Street Twin a worldwide success.

Motone Customs, the British motorcycle parts and accessories company, is no stranger to Triumph’s line of modern classics. Founded more than a decade ago, Motone specializes in the design and manufacture of accessories and parts, for discerning customers who want their vehicle to stand out.

They just finished assembling a Triumph Street Twin with some new parts. It looks so good that it’s hard to believe this bike is made of just bolted parts—no cutting or welding required. This is Motone’s genius; What could cost an arm and a leg from a custom shop once, has been made easy enough for all but the shyest.

Along with the lower finned engine and transmission covers (a Motone staple) are matching side panels and covers. There are plenty of other Motone parts that have been fitted as well, but this bike was built to highlight some of the new parts.

Most notable are the new tracker-style flat saddle and the ‘Nautilus’ exhaust. But discerning viewers will also spot the new Motone ‘PICO’ LED indicator, which is super small in size but still has full ECE certification.

Custom Triumph Thruxton by Moto Crafting Purpose
Triumph Thruxton by Purpose Built Moto Another stunning vehicle in Triumph’s modern classic lineup is Thruxton 1200. It took the world by storm when it was released in 2016 and to be honest, the fanfare hasn’t really subsided yet. It’s almost perfect out of the box—but that also means you can see it everywhere.

A customer with exactly this problem rolled his 2016 Thruxton R in The purpose of building Moto garage in Burleigh Heads, Queensland, Australia. He wants to change things, but not too much; The team at PBM knows exactly what to do.

Store owner Tom explains: “These conversions are always met with a bit of criticism. “Keyboard heroes shouting ‘why would you mess up the bike’s street abilities?’”

“The answer is always the same: our mission is to deliver a motorcycle that customers enjoy, love and think about even when they are not riding. If our customer wants spiked tires on a 1200 cc twin engine with Ohlins suspension, that’s what they’ll get.”

Thruxton’s 1200 cc engine is a real peach, so it’s still mostly inventory but it wouldn’t be a custom bike without the right soundtrack. The factory headers were left alone, but the system was released from the catalytic converter and now exhaled through a PBM Torpedo silencer.

Up front are Moto’s purpose-built 7″ LED Flashpoint headlights with custom lampshades. The twin gauges have been replaced by the Daytona gauges, which sit in front of the LSL triple clamp, new lift bar and ProTaper handlebars. The Continental TKC80 tire has been glued to the original rim (this is a street car disturbance personafterall).

The fuel tank and bib were painted by Nathan at Livin’ Loco (just below the PBM garage) and the seat is newly expertly shaped and wrapped by Timeless Auto Trim. Behind the saddle is an arc-shaped rear end, covered by Moto Built Purpose 3-in-1 LEDs.

Hats off to the PBM team for once again turning an original bike into a cool custom machine. We just know customers are being attracted. [Purpose Built Moto | Images by ]

2023 Harley-Davidson Nightster Special
2023 Harley-Davidson Nightster Special Harley-Davidson has just revealed their 120th anniversary line of bikes. And while there are a few new bikes mixed in, most of the models are just anniversary editions with bold new graphics. The new Nightster Special is somewhere in between.

The Nightster Special comes standard with the same chassis and same 975T Revolution Max engine as the ‘regular’ Nightster. However, while the engine remains the same, the ergonomics have been slightly upgraded. The handlebars have been stretched by 5 inches and the new handlebars place the handlebars two inches higher and one inch closer to the rider.

This should make the Nightster Special a little more comfortable around town and on longer rides. In that direction, it also has an extra seat and passenger latch—both absent from the standard problem model. New alloy wheels round out the specs of the parts (admittedly they look nice).

The Nightster Special is available in Denim Black, Vivid Black, Bright Pool Blue and Industrial Gold. All color options feature AMF-inspired stripes on the fuel tank, with prices starting at $14,999 in the US.

It’s a neat set of upgrades for the Nightster, but it still leaves us wanting. A little different from the original bike would be great — and a much-anticipated Bronx announcement would be even better. [Harley-Davidson Nightster Special]
