Britain’s Defense Secretary has vowed to send more weapons to Ukraine to help it fend off Russian aggression.
Ben Wallace said multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) and precision-guided missiles, which can hit targets up to 50 miles away, will be delivered to the Eastern European country.
“This latest round of military assistance will allow Ukraine’s armed forces to continue defending against Russian aggression and the indiscriminate use of long-range artillery,” he added.
“Our continued support sends a very clear message: Britain and the international community remain opposed to this illegal war and will stand shoulder to shoulder in providing defensive military aid to Ukraine.” to help them defend against Putin’s invasion.”
The M31A1 missile is designed to counter Russian heavy artillery.
Ukrainian army has trained in the UK on how to use the launcher, and 10,000 soldiers will receive infantry battlefield skills training in the coming months.
Canada, Denmark, Finland, Sweden and the Netherlands also said they would support the program.
Mr. Wallace will co-host the Copenhagen Conference for Ukraine’s Nordic Defense Allies on Thursday.
During the meeting, officials are expected to discuss long-term support for the war-torn country, including army training, equipment and funding.
Britain has previously supplied the country with various weapons, including the NLAW anti-tank missile launcher, which was instrumental in its initial defense against the Moscow invasion.
The latest announcement comes after explosions rocked a Russian airbase in Crimea on Tuesday, killing one person and injuring several others.
While Kyiv has not publicly claimed responsibility for the attack, a senior Ukrainian official told Sky News that the country’s special forces carried out the operation.
Ukraine has claimed that 9 Russian planes were destroyed.

Ukraine behind ‘Crimea explosion’
Russia has denied any of its equipment was damaged, seeking to downplay the explosions by saying all hotels and beaches were unaffected on the peninsula.
On Wednesday, Mr Wallace said it was “clear” that the explosions were not caused by “someone dropping a cigarette”, as he dismissed Moscow’s “excuse”.
He added that he believed anyone’s “war manual” would consider the site on the Crimean Peninsula, which was annexed by Moscow in 2014, as a “legitimate target” for Ukraine to attack.
