Twitter and Reddit in chaos, Tumblr planning to redesign MASSIVE to attract their subscribers

Twitter, for a long time, and Reddit recently, have been going through hard times and other social media platforms are greedy to keep an eye on their subscribers! Now, Tumblr wants to eat its lunch, and to do that, it’s considering a change. So for those unfamiliar with Tumblr, a bit of history. First of all, you should know that it used to be one of the major social media platforms along with Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram in the 2010s. However, the microblogging platform has been losing traction due to heavy homepages. customization has created a steep learning curve for anyone looking to build a platform and create a community. Then in 2018, after Tumblr announced it would not allow any pornography, a large portion of its loyal user base felt left out. Since then, it has existed as a niche platform. But things are about to change, claims an official Tumblr staff blog post.

Tumblr staff blog posted a long time ago parcel which says, “For Tumblr to grow, we need to fix the core experience that makes Tumblr a useful place for users. The basic problem is that Tumblr is not easy to use. In the past, we’ve expected users to manage their feeds and rely on managing their experience. However, this expectation creates friction on the user experience and serves only a small portion of our audience.”

“To ensure Tumblr continues to be a success, we must prioritize fostering a seamless connection between people and content. This involves attracting and retaining new users and creators, nurturing their growth, and encouraging regular interaction with the platform,” the post added.

Tumblr redesigned the platform, added new features

So what exactly is Tumblr’s plan? Posts for we a glimpse of that in a section called “Diagnostics”. Acknowledging that its main problem lies in the complex user experience, the microblogging platform has put together a list of guidelines that it will follow to bring about drastic change. This is as follows:

1. Expand how new users can discover and sign up for Tumblr.

2. Deliver high-quality content with every app launch.

3. Make it easier for users to join the conversation.

4. Maintain and grow our creator base.

5. Create templates that encourage users to keep coming back to Tumblr.

6. Improve platform performance, stability and quality.

In essence, Tumblr will change the way people sign up for the platform, discover new content, set up their own pages, and interact with other users. This means that the platform will regulate every aspect of itself.

Some of the biggest calls to action for the platform include improving SEO practices and bringing it up to industry standards; improve algorithm ranking ability; changing the answers and reblogs are now confusing; make it easier for the user to follow the conversation; improved feedback loop; and added a new co-creation feature where multiple users can collaborate on a project.

Tumblr has also added that it will experiment a lot to find the best solution for each problem, so users should soon see many new ‘beta’ features coming soon.

The strategy has been applied a lot, but the Topic may have attracted most Twitter frustration and reddit users now and Tumblr may have left it too late. But this is just the early days and the judges still don’t know who will actually win.
