Lawn Park canceled the race card on February 3 with snow and ice in the upcoming forecast for Northern Kentucky, the track posted on social media February 2.
“Due to an impending snowfall forecast for Northern Kentucky, the race was canceled for Thursday, February 3,” a Tweet from the track said Wednesday.
“A decision will be made for the rest of the race weekend’s cards,” it added.
The track is currently scheduled to host a $100,000 Forego Stakes on Saturday, February 5 on its Tapeta track. The race is a 6 1/2 stage sprint for older horses.
Turfway Racecourse also canceled its race on Sunday, January 30, out of an “out of an abundance of caution due to track conditions after freezing overnight,” the track said on social media.
Due to the impending snow and ice forecast for Northern Kentucky, the race was canceled for Thursday, February 3.
A decision will be made for the rest of the race weekend’s cards.
