Wack 100 asks why rappers don’t ‘paint their nails’: ‘It’s a different era’
On Tuesday, Wack jumped on Instagram to try and better understand why some “young adults [are] nail polish” today. He also went on to explain that many people have asked him about the topic, although he admits he doesn’t quite understand.
However, he did make a point to discuss how—despite rappers like Trippie Redd, NBA YoungBoy and Lil Uzi Vert getting their nails done in a rock style—he understands that “they are very manly.”
“I know a lot of young people—Trippie Redd, NBA, Lil Uzi—I know these men, these men are not feminine, these men are not gay, they are very masculine.”
Wack 100 also explains that it’s simply “another era” and mentions how the older heads looked down on them because they had their pants down in the old days.
“It was a different era. When I was growing up, n***as had their pants dropped. My parents and uncles said, ‘What are you doing with your ***, n***a? It’s gay.’ But it’s not gay, it’s just some trendy sex we’re doing.”
At the end of his upload, Wack explains that he thinks “it’s just a different kind of movement,” although he did ask people to explain “what the nail polish stands for.”
“Can you guys leave a comment below about the meaning of nail polish? Since some of the young men I mentioned I know, I don’t think that means [they’re feminine]. I just thought it was a different kind of movement…I won’t make any assumptions about it. So all of you leave a comment below so I can come back and have this conversation.”
Trippie Redd responds to Wack 100
DJ Akademiks finally retweeted Wack’s upload, and Trippie Redd responded in the comments.
He briefly explains that nail polish is a way to “Be true to yourself and [practicing] self care.”
The “Love Scars” rapper went on to add that nail art is “a way of expressing your feelings.”

NBA YoungBoy previously talked about why he wears makeup
When it comes to the topic of the male rapper who loves nail art, we should mention that NBA YoungBoy previously talked about why he wears makeup.
In a conversation with DJ Akademiks, NBA YoungBoy noted that he feels “comfortable” when wearing cosmetics. He also notes that he likes to embrace the “goth feel” and enjoys the “look.”[ing] in the mirror and see[ing] everything is black.”
“I love face painting, makeup. I like to look in the mirror and see everything as black. Like my eyes and s**t. That’s one hundred percent true! That’s me being myself. I feel comfortable that way. Those are some things from MAC that I got my engineer to buy. It gives me a goth-like feel, like rock stars.
