The Mastery Retirement Foundation’s annual winter call, highlighting the growth of TRF’s Second Chance program in New York, has raised more than $50,000 for a herd of more than 450 retired racehorses organization’s retirement thanks in part to a $25,000 grant from Business for Good.

Skilled Retirement announced the expansion of the TRF Second Chance program in February. The premier Second Chance program at the Wallkill Correctional Facility, which began in 1984 and continues to operate today, will be joined by TRF’s Second Chance Program at the Wyoming Correctional Facility in Attica. TRF’s Second Chance Program is a pioneering and unique program where incarcerated individuals build life skills while participating in vocational training in equine care and management as they provide provides supervised care for retired racehorses.
