Discussion thread for your reflections and predictions
Where to start? 2022 is a wild ride. While politics and economics look bleak, I discovered a HOT article
Top 22 breakthroughs of 2022 compared to 1922.
After reading this article, I feel much better about 2022 and cautiously optimistic about 2023. Twitter file and great twitter unblocking ability make me cautiously hope that freedom of language There are many possible arguments, which is the most basic precondition for common sense to prevail in human affairs.
I look forward to your thoughts on 2022 and 2023, and please provide links to reflections/prognoses that you find interesting.
We’ll be spending New Year’s weekend watching the wild weather in the western US. Yesterday we received 1″ of rain, which has finally melted the remains of the massive “cement” snowfall from a few weeks ago with its heavy weight toppling large branches of the tree. our juniper. The rain is now turning to snow, which is still quite warm so won’t start to accumulate until tonite. I expect another massive cement snowfall next week (atmospheric rivers don’t stop flowing) and more trees damaged. When the snow calms down, there will be a massive chainsaw massacre at our house. We need all possible rain/snow here, but please only rain at night and snow in small but frequent doses.
And finally, my (almost) annual year-end post is an opportunity to thank commenters and guests for their contributions. I also appreciate emails from people who choose not to post comments on the blog.
Best wishes to all of you for a healthy, happy and prosperous new year
