Electric vehicles have become more and more popular in recent years, causing more polarization and controversy. Art, Simon, Pedro and Nate engage in a multi-dimensional conversation filled with expertise and insight into the realities of electric vehicles. Are plans to significantly increase the production of electric vehicles to replace internal combustion vehicles physically, economically or even infrastructurally? Do current EV initiatives adopt a science-based systems approach to major economic, environmental and cultural change, or are they rooted in energy blindness?
About Arthur Berman:
Arthur E. Berman is an oil geologist with 36 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. He is an expert on US shale and currently advises a number of E&P companies and corporations in the energy sector.
About Pedro Prieto:
Pedro is vice president of the Asociación para el Estudio de los Recursos Energéticos (AEREN). AEREN is an open space for debate and communication on energy issues and their role in demographics, development, economy and ecology. Pedro is a member of the board of directors at ASPO International with AEREN representing ASPO in Spain. Since 2004, Pedro has led a number of solar photovoltaic projects in Spain, a world leader in solar power penetration. Pedro co-authored Spain’s Photovoltaic Revolution. The return on energy investment, has challenged the conventional energy boundaries considered up to this point for calculation.
About Simon Michaux:
Dr. Simon Michaux is Associate Professor of Geometallurgy at the Geological Survey of Finland. He holds a doctorate in mining engineering. Dr. Michaux’s lifelong work is to transform society into a circular economy.
