Zeppelin back to life? Start-up ‘H2 Clipper’ Green Dirigible boasts 170 tons payload, 7500 M3 cargo space – Big increase thanks to that?

The green hydrogen-powered trolley could revolutionize long-distance freight transportation around the world.
More than 80 years ago, the Hindenburg Zeppelin LZ 129 exploded and crashed as it approached to land at Lakehurst New Jersey on May 6, 1937.
The massive 250-meter-long rigid spacecraft has been in service for less than a year. At the time, many such ships were produced and used with relative commercial success between the 1900s and the late 1930s. But Hindenburg’s dramatic, fiery boom marked the end of the world. the end of little things as a mode of transport.
Green Easter
It’s time to change. In the latest video, Die kalte Sonne’s Energieschau Features, characteristics California-based startup H2 Clipper, wants to bring the corroding cup back to life with “a 100% green 20th-century version of the hydrogen dishwasher.”
According to company promotional videoThe new ship uses “green hydrogen” for propulsion and with it the company hopes to transform air and ocean freight worldwide.
Using fuel cell technology and liquid hydrogen, the H2 Clipper is claimed to be “effective at service ranges from less than 500 to more than 6,000 miles” and travels at 175 mph. It can “deliver directly from the factory in China to a distribution center in the US in less than 36 hours.”
The H2 Clipper also boasts a massive cargo capacity of more than 265,000 cubic feet (7,500 cubic metres), “8 to 10 times more cargo space than any other air transport vehicle.”
Air freight costs a quarter less than traditional
Freight costs: from $0.177 to $0.247 per ton, “less than a quarter of the cost of traditional air freight.” Moreover, using today’s modern navigation technology, it is possible to transport unmanned.
According to H2 Clipper’s page:
Utilizing state-of-the-art fuel cell technology, fresh water is the only active by-product of H2 Clipper. Not only is it 7 to 10 times faster than watercraft and 4 times less expensive than air transport aircraft, but it is also the only climate-friendly alternative to long-haul transportation.”
It sounds very promising and therefore could be a great example of an efficient and even impressive way to use green energy.
