A new one Project TouhouThe -inspired game is out on Steam’s Early Access program. Valkyrie of Phantasm advertised as a “high-speed air game versus combat” involving characters from Project Touhou Game.

The game’s premise sees the inhabitants of Gensokyo acquire special weapons known as “Valkyrie Arms” – powerful sets of mechanical devices that can perform fierce attacks from the air. . Transported to Gensokyo on a mysterious meteorite, the Valkyrie Arms are associated with the most powerful inhabitants of the area, including the shrine’s fairy Reimu Hakurei.
Each character has a unique set of Valkyrie Arms that match her abilities. Gameplay involves two players flying and augmenting around an arena, firing projectiles and beams at each other. Similar to games like Gundam VS and Turn on virtual, players can lock together for easier weapon aiming. Online play is supported and additional four-player battles are planned.
Areazero developers expect Valkyrie of Phantasm to maintain Steam Early access for about another year, as testing, feedback, and tweaking are needed to ensure that all of the planned playable characters are properly balanced and tuned. The Early Access version of the game provides about half of the planned story content. When completed, the full story mode will include multiple endings in over 30 stages. The roster was initially limited to four playable characters, but through updates the roster will be expanded to a total of eight characters.
