Touch ‘n Go eWallet will be upgraded on October 15th, users will not have access to the app from 2am to 6am

Touch ‘n Go (TnG) announced that they will be performing an upgrade on eWallet application on October 15, and this is scheduled to take place between 2am and 6am during the day. In an email to users, the company informed users that they will not be able to use its eWallet for the time being.

Curiously, saying that the eWallet would be unusable during the four-hour maintenance period, the company then reminded users to reload their eWallet ahead of time to ensure a sufficient balance for fees and PayDirect using.

This may mean that even though the user will not have direct access to the app during the upgrade, the system will still be able to withdraw the balance in the eWallet for fees related transactions. done through the PayDirect feature set up on the TnG card. It should be noted that RFID is not mentioned in the statement, so if toll stations continue to open their RFID lanes at that point, things may still work in the background.

This point is relevant, because back in June, when eWallet service interruption, it initially affects RFID and PayDirect, causing users to use TnG cards as the only means of making fee payments. Later in the day, users can make toll payments, transit and parking using TnG and RFID tagsas long as there is enough balance.

Of course, there’s always the fail-safe option, making sure your physical TnG card has enough balance to use. If you are a NFC Tag TnG users and need to use a route that does not support PayDirect (such as NKVE) by midnight of that day, it is best to load the balance from your eWallet before that.
