The Pokemon Fossil Museum event will return in 2022

The Pokemon Fossil Museum event is coming to several new science museums in Japan starting March 2022. The event will compare Pokemon fossils with their real-life fossils. Furthermore, the event will also feature a Pikachu dressed as an archaeologist. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

The Pokemon Fossil Museum special event is coming to three new museums, with more locations planned for a later date. New locations include the National Museum of Nature and Science, the Toyohashi Museum of Natural History, and the Oita Prefectural Museum of Art. Each event will feature large-scale exhibits of Pokemon fossils, some as large as real-life dinosaur fossils. Some locations will also offer never-before-seen interpretations of Pokemon fossils.

As of writing, only the National Museum of Nature and Science has a confirmed event time. Each museum will announce specific event windows at a later date.

You can check out the official Pokemon Fossil Museum event trailer below.

The original Pokemon Fossil Museum event begins back in July 2021, with the Mikasa City Museum in Hokkaido Prefecture being the first site. While the traveling exhibit is slated to run until Summer 2022, the Oita Prefectural Museum of Art is a new addition to the list. The event is currently taking place at the Shimane Prefectural Nature Museum of Mount Sanbe “Sahimel” until January 30, 2022.
