The fascinating, dance-genre series SteamWorld returns in SteamWorld Headhunter. This is another first of the series, in that it’s 3D and it’s a third-person co-op action adventure. There’s a first trailer below.
Inform about Thunderful website states that the game takes place after “the (literally) horrifying events of SteamWorld Dig 2.” It also has a “roll over”, as seen in the trailer above.
Nothing else is known about the game at this stage, other than that it was “developed internally” by Thunderful. Thunderful is a publisher and developer that absorbed the SteamWorld creators’ Image & Form last year. SteamWorld’s development team is currently completing a mission on their first non-SteamWorld game, The Gunk.
We’ve loved the SteamWorld series so much in the past, whether the turn-based strategy in SteamWorld Heist, gambler SteamWorld Questor platformer SteamWorld Dig 2. The 3D co-op action game is a big change, but every game is a big change and it pays off every time.
