Wow, this bike is truly an icon! The 1975 Ducati 900 Super Sport followed the popular 750SS (“Greenframe”) of 1974 and was the company’s highest performance model until it was replaced by the 900S2 in 1982. If anyone has a picture of one The Ducati SS in my head is most likely a 1975 Ducati 900 Super Sport. is 900

Only 246 ’75 900SSs were produced (along with 249 750s), but they proved so successful that an additional 6,100 900SSs were produced. Australia is a major export market with 99 ’75 and later 904 models imported (for the 750SS, the numbers are 99 and 149).

Power is 80 horsepower

The ’75 900SS was the favorite for production racing and Ken Blake and John Warren were the most famous racers.

John Warren was on his way to 2nd place in the 1978 Castrol 6 Hour.

The 1975 bikes were the last produced with right-hand shifters and were not approved for road use in the US. They also feature polished con rods, 40mm Dell’Orto carburetors with velocity stacks, and Conti mufflers.

Each year later versions became a little more civilized (and heavier) with the introduction of indicators, larger taillights, air filters, more restrictive exhaust pipes and the like.
