The complete guide to landscape photography from lens selection through retouching
The challenge of landscape photography is that unlike most other genres, you have no control over the lighting or the placement of elements in the frame. Still, for some photographers, it’s one of the most engaging and exciting aspects of the genre. If you want to improve your landscape work, check out this great video tutorial by an experienced photographer who will guide you through the entire process from lens selection to retouching.
Coming to you from Andy Mumford, this amazing video tutorial will show you the entire landscape workflow from working in the field through to final photo editing. If you’re new to the genre, the best advice I can give is to be gentle in post-processing. There’s a very fine line between a vivid image bouncing off the screen and an over-edited image that’s gaudy, and unfortunately, once you’ve crossed that line, a photo can quickly go south. All in all, the best you can do is edit less until you’re comfortable with tweaking things. Watch the video above for the full summary from Mumford.
