Dog in a wheelchair travels across the country with his father who is a photographer
Meet Mel – a dog in a wheelchair who travels the country with his photographer father.
Now who would have thought that a dog that could barely walk would end up crisscrossing the country?
Mel, an 8-year-old Pit Bull, was adopted from Yonkers Animal Shelter by his father, Tom Dilworth.
Tom said Dodo“We went to Yonkers Animal Shelter to see another dog when we noticed Mel. I paused for a moment as he rested his head on my leg. Yes, that’s it!”
Mel was not in a wheelchair that time. It was only after Tom received Mel that he realized that something was wrong with his balance, and it was only getting worse.
It turned out that Mel had a neurological condition that affected her ability to balance. The disease was painless for Mel, but it made walking a bit difficult.
So to make it easier for Mel to move around, his people gave him a wheelchair. Thanks to Eddie’s Wheels for Pets!
With Mel’s wheelchair, he can walk and run around with his parents.
Here’s a video of Mel walking in a wheelchair for the first time!
Now that Mel is in a wheelchair, he can travel the country with his father.
And he definitely loves it. Mel loves to tag along with his dad wherever he goes.
And since his dad is a professional photographer, he gets to go to beautiful locations and landscapes!
Although Mel loves walking in a wheelchair, he also loves the free ride!
And one thing is for sure, Mel is loving her life.
So you see, the shelter dogs are not broken. And they all need the chance to have a loving family and a happy life.
