My current schnauzer has no problems, but with our previous one, she has avian allergies. Everything seems to have chicken or chicken fat in it. She did well with by Merrick brand name (they have beef and buffalo).

My oldest child, now 12, has had a chicken allergy since birth. Unfortunately, it took us a LONG time to figure that out as most puppy food is made with chicken. After we turned off the chicken protein for him, he was fine. His current food is Lamb Purina Pro. Lamb seems to be his favorite over any fish so we stick with that.

I cook for myself: only lamb and mutton, no chicken or birds in general. I cut off the fat in the meat and, if necessary, change the water to cook again, so that the meat is as fat free as possible. I add mashed sweet potatoes, carrots, and peas. Sometimes beets. She loves it and it not only helps with allergies but also prevents pancreatitis. My dog has had pancreatitis and it has made a world of difference to him. She is 14 years old and full of energy!

All of my dieters have eaten lamb and brown rice. Never had a problem and was told by my vets it was for the best as they can be allergic to other foods. I use earth birth.

Our Schnauzer is allergic to poultry foods and since we feed her raw/dehydrated we switched her to Honest Kitchen Beef and Stella and Chewy frozen beef jerky. We also added a teaspoon of steeped green tea to her food and curcumin. Absolutely, like night and day!

Obviously there is no one-time answer to your question. Mainly a trial and error. Mine ended with 1/4 cup green buffalo, and can be served with chicken or salmon and a variety of vegetables and fruits approved for dogs. I also add omega 3 6 9, walnut oil and I cook the meat with a little coconut oil. I don’t give many gifts, but the ones I make are home-made. He also likes a raw carrot as a treat. It took about a year to fix but now she’s super healthy, her fur is soft, doesn’t itch and has no stomach problems.

For many years we have done Natural Balance venison and sweet potato wet food mixed with dry food. Unfortunately, wet food was long out of stock and difficult to find, so we switched to fresh pet food instead of wet food, but had to make sure it was grain-free.

We have severe skin allergies. We tried several foods with no change. We bought a water bowl that circulated water through a carbon filter and used bottled water to fill it up. Her skin is so much better. She no longer has skin problems. Just something you might want to try. Chewy has several bowls of filtered water to choose from.

Fresh Pets!!! We use beef logs for our two schnauzers. Our mini has the worst skin and belly problems. We’ve had our minis on Fresh Pet for 4 years now with no problems. We buy at Walmart or Harps

Royal Canin Hydrolyzed is the only food that suits me. She had recurrent ear infections until we changed the food. Unfortunately, we found the doctor who gave us the solution at the end of her 14-year life.

Currently: Limited Ingredients of Acana Singles Lamb & Apple.
Previously fed him Australian Lamb FirstMate. This is a very tasty dish but not available on the east coast. Used to order through Chewy but during Covid there was stock and the shipping was unreliable. This is why I switched to Acana.
Feed it Blue Buffalo Lamb and brown rice from a puppy. He didn’t have any problems with it but I switched when their real recipe was revealed. This was around the time when we were out on the west coast – this was when I switched to FirstMate.
First mate is a great dish. The salesperson in the store opened a small sample bag and gave me about 5-6 small tablets. Tell me to take it home and put it in a glass of water and see what happens. It is almost 100% meat. It doesn’t crumble – it looks like a small piece of meat. Decided to buy and have tested the water to see if there is a difference. My dog became toned and grew a bit. If you can get this food, you should try it.

Depends on WHAT they are allergic to. I’ve had 4- all with allergies to different things. Apart from avoiding chicken, the food we eat makes no difference. We choose a high-quality, high-protein food. DO NOT DO IT – our vet says it can lead to heart disease.

The breeder I got from a pet nutritionist and she recommended Jack bill for small breeds and my two have thrived on it. My male dog has seasonal allergies and I got him tested and he is very allergic to milk, soy and rice. Sometimes I feed them boneless, skinless boiled chicken breasts in their Bill Jack as a treat and sometimes I feed them full Moon human-grade chicken pieces or wild dog meat as a treat. eat.

We are currently trying Zignature (Zssential formula) We tried all different brands, even tried one vet brand. bring her in to know how to take advantage. Now we also give her Candid-y drops to treat yeast infections. She smelled of corn flakes and her armpits were red and chewing on her legs. We’ve been fighting this battle for over a year and it’s exhausting. The vet tried the injection – no thought. We were told ‘no’ chicken so we stayed away from chicken. We have been told that there are no grains or sugars as they feed the yeast inside, which is said to be problematic.
