The company added that it will establish Experience centers in key urban areas across the country. These hubs will serve as interactive spaces for potential buyers to discover and experience the brand’s electric vehicles first-hand, and better understand the benefits of electric mobility.

As for charging infrastructure, significant investment will also be made in establishing a network of Supercharger fast charging stations across strategic locations in Malaysia. Initial, 10 locations was defined, but as pointed out at launch, this was expanded to 12.

Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) CEO Datuk Wira Arham Abdul Rahman also praised Tesla’s investment in the country. “Tesla’s decision to choose Malaysia as its expansion destination demonstrates the country’s attractiveness as an investment hub in the region. The development of electric mobility will play a key role in the sustainable development of Malaysia and we believe Tesla will play an important part in this journey,” he said.
