Tesla has officially produced the first Cybertruck in Texas


It has been a long time coming, but Tesla e-car officially went into production.

A photo posted to Twitter shows the first Cybertruck surrounded by employees at the Tesla factory in Austin, Texas.

Production of the edgy electric pickup truck, which initially began in 2021, was revealed in concept form in 2019.

Deliveries of the first production cars are underway in the third quarter of 2023, with full production set to begin in 2024.

Pricing and final specs have yet to be revealed for the rival Ford F-150 Lightning.

Tesla is said to have struggled during the development of its first electric pickup.

A report dating from January 2022 revealed flaws in the Cybertruck ‘alpha’ prototype including handling issues, high noise levels, as well as suspension and brake failures.

Since then, the brand has been caught multiple times testing the Cybertruck around the US, including wind tunnel testing and road testing.

A Cybertruck prototype was also recently tracked get off the plane in New Zealandis likely on track to complete winter testing at the Southern Hemisphere Proving Ground on the South Island, used by many automakers.
