Tchia still looks like an absolutely gorgeous Zelda
Tchia was one of the best games at last year’s Game Awards, and even better at this year’s PlayStation Showcase. It’s a little Wind Waker, a little Breath Of The Wild, and a little Disney. This year’s trailer features all of the above, plus more animals and objects and ways you can use them in combat. So lovely. See it below.
I don’t care at all about the climbing and windsurfing that are becoming more and more popular in action adventure games. I will never tire of climbing high things and jumping off the top. Sailing on the clear blue water just makes it better.
Tchia seems to be aiming for a spirit of invention similar to BotW-ish in combat, but here it’s fueled by your ability to zoom inside animals and inanimate objects. In the video above, we see plantations entered through a haunted bird and slingshot fired while still in mid-air. We also see inanimate lamps, which can then roll and slam into unknowing enemies.
There are lots of fun little interactions throughout. I love the look of bending and blooming among the trees. I even liked the playable ukelele and the seemingly interactive woodcarving game.
All I need now is the release date, but still no date other than “2022”, when it will be Epic game store.
