Tamashii Nations will expand its line of premium action figures with the new Imagination Works release. After two Dragon ball figures, Bandai is mining A piece vein. That circuit will yield Luffy’s Fantasy, the 3rd character in the series and the first from A piece. Revealed back in January, last number will go on sale in August 2022.
Like Characters Goku and Vegeta In the line, Luffy’s Imagination Building is built in 1/9 scale. That makes him slightly larger than the more common 1/12 scale. That said, the larger scale leaves more room for details and ensembles to flourish like fabric accessories. After all, flourishing is the trademark for Imagination Works. Tamashii Nations describes the brand identity as “a new pinnacle” of bookable action figures.
Luffy’s imaginary work appears as in the later chapters of A piece, after the passage of time and into the Wano Country storyline. The character wears an outfit that matches Luffy’s look as he and his allies get ready for the battles of Onigashima.

The character wears a dark fabric jacket and a red fabric shirt. The shirt reveals the scar on Luffy’s chest. His purple sash and orange pants are made of sculpted plastic. He comes with a variety of accessories, including his signature straw hat with and without. Hats with and without strings to hang around Luffy’s neck are also included. Furthermore, the drawing features multiple arms, with the extra arms being detailed with the dark, tough look of Weapon Color Haki (Busoshoku Haki).
Tamashii Nations will sell Luffy Fantasy in August 2022 in Japan. This figure will cost 10,000 JPY (about $72 USD at current exchange rates) excluding taxes.
