Subaru shows off WRX accessories and presents an electrified concept for Tokyo Auto Salon
Subaru showing some cool stuff at Tokyo Auto Shop This year. The key news will be the concept it is teasing, shown above, which will obviously be electrified. It will also showcase some of its sports cars with new STI accessories, including Recently launched WRX.
The concept that Subaru has teased looks quite interesting, even if we can’t see it clearly. The nose looks low, with a low and wide grille resembling a BRZ, but it’s clearly something original and original. It has angular, angry headlights like the one above WRX. We can also make some air vents in the hood. Subaru also offers a name: the STI E-RA concept. The letter E is definitely a nod to electrification. RA is an alphabetic notation seen on Subarus in the past, and most recently these letters stand for “record attempt” on special edition WRX STIs. So whatever it is, it’s serious and probably pretty quick.
The only car shown so far with STI parts is the WRX, and luckily, it’s clearly displayed. The highlight is the body part. All around the bottom are lipstick and side skirts, and they come in STI’s signature “cherry red,” which we’ll definitely call pink. If they weren’t bright pink, they would actually be quite subtle additions. They are joined by equal pink mirror caps. They work pretty well with gray paint, but we suspect pink will clash a bit with some color, such as orange. In the back is a carbon fiber broth. Subaru says there’s a muffler that sounds more aggressive, though obviously the photos don’t do much for us on that subject. Availability is not mentioned, but we bet these parts will be made available in Japan, and some may even make the journey to the United States. Even if they don’t arrive officially, we bet there will be some who are willing to stand out for intrepid buyers.
For the BRZ and Levorg models, they should be similar to the WRX shown above. They will likely be the showcase for upcoming STI accessories that will go on sale in the near future. So stay tuned for information on those and the E-RA concept in January.
