Strict emissions standards open the door to new Isuzu engine options

However, currently all Isuzu vehicles supplied in Australia are Euro 5 compliant. Tighter Euro 6d emissions standards are about to come into effect on all new cars (including SUVs and light commercial vehicles) sold in the country from December 2025 onwards.

Isuzu offers a Euro 6 version of the more efficient 1.9-litre turbo-diesel engine in other markets, although it’s unclear whether this will be offered locally.

Junta-san said “everyone has to be ready for Euro 6”, adding Isuzu Ute Australia is currently discussing how to introduce it.
