‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’ star calls Dave Chappelle out for homophobic jokes
Will Wheaton, the former star of Star Trek: The Next Generation, criticized Dave Chappelle for his homophobic jokes.
He also apologized for making homophobic jokes in the past.
“For most of my teenage years, I was shamelessly homophobic, and it all started with that comedy special,” he wrote, blaming it on the stand-up show. Created in 1983 “Delirious” by Eddie Murphy.
He added, “So this is what Chapelle did? All these white men Cishet so desperately wanted to protect? I believed them when they said it wasn’t a big deal. Because it wasn’t. is a big deal for CISHET WHITE DUDES. But for a transgender person, those “jokes” normalize hateful, ignorant, bigoted behavior towards them,” he wrote.
Those “jokes” contribute to creating a world where transgender people are regularly threatened with violence, because transgender people have been safely dehumanized. all fine, because they were dehumanized by a Black man And the puzzling argument that it was really racist to hold Chapelle responsible for this? Get f*ck out of here? .”
