Spread the word: Work day is approaching
Whether you only occasionally commute to work by two-wheeler or have made it a regular habit, be sure to set aside Monday, June 19, to ride a motorbike or scooter to your workplace for International Travel Day. made by Motorcycle and Scooter 32nd Annual.
According to Ride to Work Day WebsiteThe idea for the event was inspired by the marketing materials “Work to Ride” created between 1989 and 1991 by the Aviation Design and Manufacturing Company, a clothing manufacturer. for motorcyclists based in Minnesota, now more familiar to our readers as Balloon.
The first Work Day was on July 22, 1992, and for several years, the third Thursday of July was officially recognized and promoted by businesses as two-wheeler commute day. In 2000, the non-profit organization Ride to Work 501(c)(4) was established to officially organize and promote the event.

In 2008, this date was changed to the third Monday in June to accommodate more passengers worldwide, and starting next year, Commuting Day will be changed to the second Tuesday of June to avoid conflict with the United States federal holiday June 16. Event organizers say the special date was chosen because it breaks up the work week better than a Monday event, and because it’s considered a demonstration event, they believe a midweek day has more more likely to receive media coverage than Monday or Friday.
Along with demonstration lines, the purpose of Work Day is to illustrate the following:
- Number of motorcyclists for the public and politicians
- Motorcyclists of all professions and social classes
- Motorcycles can reduce traffic congestion in big cities
- Motorcycles are a means of transportation as well as entertainment
In horsemanwe fully support Ride to Work’s mission to attract more riders, make our roads safer for riders, and push local governments to add mock parking car and other motorcycle-friendly ordinances.
