A successful Pitt Bull rescue story
The first resident, Achilles, came to the reserve due to issues of aggression as well as a long history of medical problems. After a few weeks, the staff noticed a positive change in Achilles’ personality; he seems more relaxed and shows no signs of aggression. According to Shorty, “We started Shorty’s Trailer Park Sanctuary when we realized we were taking on so many rescue dogs that no one wanted due to medical issues, age and disability. We really need a separate place from our rescue to house these dogs and we don’t want to just set up kennel rows. We are determined to create a place for them where they can live a life close to what they would get if adopted. As a result, the idea of a trailer park was born.”
