Lady Gaga sued by woman who ‘found’ her stolen French Bulldogs
Two years ago, two of Lady Gaga’s three French Bulldogs were stolen after her dog walker was shot. The female singer went abroad to film Gucci’s house when it happened, but she made a plea on social media for the return of her beloved canines. She promised a “no question” $500,000 reward to anyone who returned the dogs.
Soon after, Jennifer McBride returned Koji and Gustav. At first, the officers thought she seemed “unrelated and unrelated”, but then they learned that she was related to the people who stole the dogs. Still, McBride thinks she deserves the bounty despite everything.
McBride sues Lady Gaga
Five suspects arrested for reasons related to the theft nearly 2 years ago but still not over. One of those individuals was McBride, who was charged with “participating in conspiracy to commit murder” and “receiving stolen property”. She was sentenced to two years of probation.
Despite being involved in the murder and dog theft plot, McBride is still angry that Lady Gaga has never given the prize money. Gaga posted that she would pay 500 thousand dollars to anyone who returned her dogs, but according to McBride, Gaga never followed through. So McBride is now suing the celebrity for not delivering on what she promised.
“The case is pretty straightforward,” McBride’s attorney said in a statement. “Lady Gaga has made a bonus offer for the achievement. She desperately wanted her dogs returned, and my client acted to accommodate Lady Gaga’s wishes. My client has absolutely nothing to do with the dog theft. She loves dogs and is happy to be involved in bringing them back safely. She has legal rights and deserves the reward.”
Add the asked
McBride is suing Lady Gaga for “breach of contract”, “fraud by false promises” and “fraud by misrepresentation”. However, she expected more than just the bonus from the pop star. She wants to triple the amount to $1.5 million because she says she has faced “financial damage,” “pain and suffering,” “mental distress,” and “lost joy in life” due to not receiving the promised amount.
McBride and her attorney believe that Gaga never intended to pay the prize. If Lady Gaga is in financial trouble from this lawsuit, Deputy District Attorney Michele Hanisee said prosecutors could seek compensation from McBride.
“It is clear from the evidence presented to the grand jury that Ms. McBride knew the dogs were stolen during a violent robbery in which Ryan Fischer was fatally injured,” Hanisee told NBC. “The evidence also makes it clear that McBride has known at least two of her accomplices over the years.”
This lawsuit is a messy situation, so it’s unclear what the outcome will be. Fortunately, Lady Gaga’s French people are still happy and safe with their mother despite everything that has happened.
