‘Semi Sunset’ star Christine Quinn gets recognition for shoes, Pick-Me Girls and Lauren Conrad

Christine Quinn is the perfect villain. Complete with yellow extension and low lying ability, Sunset sale broker seems to be made in a reality TV show factory. Amidst the sarcasm about fire and saliva, scenes from a “sex Phantom of the Opera”—themed engagement party, and unable to operate Keurig because of a new manicure, Quinn easily captivates viewers despite her traditional bad-girl stereotype. Somehow, she was able to turn her brand of villain from unacceptable to completely likable, in part due to her self-perception in the role. (Davina, on the other hand, is a different story.)

Quinn wholeheartedly and without remorse identifies herself as a bitch, but in a positive light. “I really think ‘bitch’ is a word that should be accepted,” she told ELLE.com over the phone.Until our chat, she didn’t know what. “Choose me” is all, and somehow it makes sense: “I’ve never heard of that,” she said. “If anything, I think about the 50s when I hear that phrase. But I never listen to my husband, so I’m not the right person. [to ask]. ”

Quinn’s confidence on stage extends to her style. Armed with her designer logo, power colors, and luscious glamor the moment she walks into the office, there’s no denying her daring fashion sense. Even if you don’t like aesthetics, you can’t Not love Quinn for walking backwards down the stairs, because if she didn’t, she’d break her ankle. Quinn has made selling million-dollar homes with 6-inch heels her trademark, and she’s going even further with her latest venture. Debuting today, she’s teamed up with Shoedazzle for a shoe collection like her stage. We chatted with Quinn to discuss her tips on how to wear heels, her favorite reality hosts, and upcoming season of Sunset sale, below.

What are your goals when collaborating with Shoedazzle?

That’s the most important thing — people think that, to be fashionable, you have to spend $500 on a pair of shoes. And I probably have hundreds of pairs of shoes. And I would say the expensive stuff is only a fraction of it because I like to mix it up, and sometimes you only wear it once. So I’m excited about the affordability, and the fact that everyone can have a pair and look good in them.

In terms of design, what vibe would you aim for?

I know that this is coming out over the holidays. So we wanted to do something fun and exciting, [and] eye confusion. You can go to a party, but you can also wear it to work. That’s the vibe we’re aiming for. So that’s why we incorporated so many glitter and glitter and fun elements.

You say you have hundreds of pairs of shoes. What is the highest heel you own? Do you have any advice on how to walk in 6-inch heels?

Maybe six inches. Everyone’s like, “How do you wear those shoes all day at work?” And I don’t step into them all of day. When I’m in the house, if I’m not in meetings, if I’m at the office… so when I don’t need to wear them, I wear my flats. It is just to save your feet. That’s my biggest trick.

Did you feel like you were playing the villain while filming?

I was cast in that mold, and the producers told me over and over again, “Wow, you’re the villain.” So this is what people want to see. I don’t really feel like the villain in real life, because I’m the only one willing to express my opinion. I think I’m very confident, unrepentant and really sincere. But in a television world where we have a lot of characters that are scared to protect people, I can see how it could be viewed that way, but I really wouldn’t have it any other way. .

What affects my morale is when people watch the show and then they come back and they’ll say, “Oh my God, I can’t believe you did this.” And I said, “Seriously, this is a TV show.”

How has your reality TV obsession informed your approach to Sunset sale?

No one really cares about nice people. I’ve noticed that the people who are really successful in their careers are stand-out and opinionated. And so, come back The hills, I’m looking at Lauren Conrad and Heidi Montag, and they’re both really on my side. And Lauren has had an incredible career, but she’s always been the one to say things that other people don’t necessarily want to hear. And I really like that about her. So for me, I said, “Okay, if I’m remembered, people won’t like me.” And that’s how I got into it.

You have a book coming out called How to become a Boss Bitchand you said the word “bitch” is a compliment. What’s the difference between being a boss bitch and a toxic one?

As women, we are often in an environment where you are too sexy or you are not sexy enough. You are too thin, or you are not thin enough. And so I feel like the word “bitch” covers a common theme we have to deal with in this world where women are still not treated equally. I think it starts to become a toxic environment when you knock people out for their physical traits, or things they can’t help with. That’s where the boundaries are really crossed.

You recently shared some really intimate and difficult details surrounding your pregnancy. Why is it important for you to share that side of your story?

It’s basically a matter of negligence that doesn’t need to be revealed too much. But I had a hunch as a woman and I knew something was wrong. I told my doctor for two days this feeling was not good. And she assured me, “No, you’re fine. You’re fine.” And sure enough, I was put in a position where suddenly the water broke, and I had to rush to the hospital, and I was dilated. 10 cm.

So when this happened, a lot of people around me said, “God, I see this all the time.” And it’s frustrating. I wish people would talk about it. I’m glad I told my story because I feel it sheds light on the fact that we women need to trust our bodies.

The show’s trailer is left out and it hints at someone dating your ex. Do you have any dating advice for shady men?

Yes. I mean, this comes back to intuition again. The thing with this person was that I knew something was going on, and at the time I was catching my boyfriend lying a lot. I gave him the benefit of the doubt, but I think when things keep happening and you have questions, there are no coincidences at all. As a woman, go for everything, and if things don’t work out, don’t let him pass. Because you really never know who someone is. I’ve been with one man for years, and I don’t know who he is.

My last and final question: have you ever found out what a cabin is?

Well, I figured out what a cabin is. I really don’t understand the difference. I said, “Okay, so it’s just made of wood, I guess?” I think about cabins and horror movies!
