Rise Of The Triad: Ludicrous Edition receives a cross-platform multiplayer update


Now there’s even more reason to try out a classic first-person shooter The rise of the trio with the new update adding cross-play support.

That means you can now engage in multiplayer shootouts with your friends on other systems including Xbox, PlayStation and PC. This is Summary of Nightdive of Version 1.1 and below here are the full patch notes (via Steam).

There are also several Switch-specific updates, including performance improvements when viewing certain textures and controller-related fixes when switching from docked to handheld mode. You can get the list below:

  • Cross-platform multiplayer.
  • Added the final alternate actor, the lightning guardian.
  • A new setting allows players to prevent automatic weapon switching when holding a gun.
  • A text chat button has been added to the multiplayer menu.
  • Level statistics: such as number of kills and number of secrets, have been added to the map screen.

  • Booting into the editor now no longer messes up camera controls.
  • Platform icons are no longer stretched in the scoreboard.
  • Killing Big John with a wall of fire or holy orb no longer soft locks the game.
  • Multiple menu stack corruption cases have been resolved, addressing various types of soft locks.
  • The title screen has fewer missing pixels at the bottom of each pixel column.
  • Rumble no longer exists between levels.
  • Default tracks no longer cause excessive CPU usage.
  • Turning off free view now shifts the view towards the horizon.
  • Using the “No Target” cheat code in an Oscuro battle will no longer cause the game to crash.
  • HUD previews are now correctly cleared when exiting menus by unconventional means.
  • (Dashboard) Default links are no longer merged with user-provided links.
  • (Sony) Music no longer stops playing in case of incorrect stopping.
  • (Switched) Switching from docked to handheld mode no longer prevents controller use.
