Rihanna celebrates her first ‘National Heroes Day’ in Barbados with an emotional Instagram post— “I will forever cherish these memories”

Time flies, because just a year ago, Rihanna was given the ultimate honor of being one of Barbados’ heroes by receiving the title of ‘National Hero Day’ — and she just celebrated it. first anniversary in some very sincere words on social media. In a lengthy Instagram post, Rihanna expressed her honor to be named the national hero of her native Barbados.

While posting a collection of photos and videos from last year’s event to mark the one-year anniversary, Rihanna posted the following announcement:

What an absolute honor to stand among such great men and women who have come before me and hold this title in commitment to our country! I will forever cherish these memories and continue to represent my native Bajan and Barbados people to the fullest!! Love and gratitude to both the Prime Minister, venerable Ms. Mia Amor Mottley and our President, the most venerable Dame Sandra Mason for entrusting me with this honor! ”

As we previously reported, in November 2021, Rihanna was named an Official National Hero by Barbados Prime Minister Mia Mottley during an island ceremony. After receiving the title, she became the second woman to be honored in the country’s history out of 11 other recipients.
