The world of rock music has lost a legend.
Jeff BeckEnglish guitarist who was a member of the band garden birdpassed away on January 10, according to a statement shared on his Instagram on January 11. He is 78 years old.
“On behalf of his family, we are deeply saddened and deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of Jeff Beck,” the message read. “After suddenly contracting bacterial meningitis, he passed away peacefully yesterday.”
News of Jeff’s death drew many tributes in the comments—including Rod Stewartwho is the main vocalist of Jeff Beck Corporationwhich the late legend formed in 1967 after parting with the Yardbirds, according to Diversity.
“Jeff Beck was on another planet,” Rod wrote. “He brought me and Ronnie Wood to the United States in the late ’60s in his Jeff Beck Group band, and we haven’t looked back since.”
Reflecting on Jeff’s type of musician, Rod applauded him for his ability on stage.
