On the night that was supposed to be the new era of Elite Wrestling, the two stars suffered brutal injuries. One injury became commonplace while the other was filmed after AEW Dynamite.
During AEW’s launch main event on TBS, Rey Fenix and Penta El Zero Miedo defended the AEW Tag Team Title against Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus. During the match, Luchasaurus chokeslam Fenix crossed the table. Right after that, you can see Fenix’s arm was bent the wrong way and he quickly got medical help. The match could have ended without him, with Luchasaurus and Jungle Boy taking the title.
By Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer, Fenix broke his arm. PW Insider went on to say that there was a chance his elbow could be dislocated. Currently, there is no timetable for his return. Fenix and Penta recently had a feud with Malakai Black, with the latter interfering in their matches.
Another trauma occurred on AEW Dark. Jake Atlas, who has left professional wrestling to focus on his mental health, signed a promotional deal the week after his first bout on AEW Dark: Elevation. During the exploits, Atlas faced off against Adam Cole. According to reports from those present at the event that after being stabbed by super-stork Cole after an attempt to run the pedals, Atlas clutched his knee. The match ending was changed due to his inability to continue.

Based on PW Insider Atlas suffered a bleeding knee and had to wear crutches when he left the ring. It is also unknown how long he can sit out.
Sporting News will follow up with updates regarding surgery details and the time frame the two wrestlers need to recover before they return to competition.
In an update, Rey Fenix announced that no bones were broken and that he will have to undergo further tests to determine the next steps in the healing process.
