Review of the Venus Optics Argus 18mm f/0.95 MFT APO
Venus Optics has established itself as a maker of unique lenses that often push the boundaries of design, and the new Argus 18mm f/0.95 MFT APO continues that trend by offering Micro Four Thirds photographers versatile focal length combined with an extremely wide maximum aperture. This great video review looks at the lens and the kind of performance and image quality you can expect from that lens in practice.
Coming to you from Peter Forsgard, this great review video takes a look at the Venus Optics Argus 18mm f/0.95 MFT APO lens. At $449, the Argus 18mm f/0.95 is quite affordable, but still offers a host of useful features. They include 14 elements in 8 groups (including two with extra-low dispersion), an APO design to reduce chromatic aberrations, a 9-blade aperture to create smoother bokeh and reduce focus breathing. for video work. Although the lens has a manual focus design, this is not as much of an obstacle as it used to be, as most modern cameras offer fairly powerful and simple manual focus features. As long as you’re not taking fast action shots, there’s usually no big deal. Check out the video above for Forsgård’s full thoughts on the lens.
