The Masters is over, but the dense golf season is upon us. Following a wild spring, the PGA Tour now enters the rhythm of a major championship each month leading up to the FedEx Playoffs at the end of the year.
This week’s RBC legacy is stacked with a surprising number of stars playing an atypical golf course that couldn’t be more than Augusta National. Golf never stops, and if you’re looking to comfortably follow the intensity of last week’s Masters, this tournament is perfect.

Three things to know
1. Return of Morgan Hoffmann: Hoffmann’s story – as narrated by Dan Rapaport of Golf Digest – incredible. Hoffmann was beset by muscular dystrophy. The diagnosis revealed an elite amateur career and a promising professional start, and Hoffmann sought a cure (and answers) in Costa Rica. This will be his first warm-up on the PGA Tour since late 2019 and he has three starts left in a major medical extension. His last cut was so long ago that the tournament that took place at – A Military Tribute at Greenbrier – is no longer a Tour event. Hoffmann’s story is well worth diving into, and there will be plenty of people supporting him this weekend at The Heritage.
2. Half point: Twenty-three weeks of the season have passed and only 20 weeks remain. With Scottie Scheffler and Cameron Smith on six wins already, the likes of Dustin Johnson, Collin Morikawa and Justin Thomas – all in the field – who typically win at least once a year have yet to post. sign. There was an odd mix of disproportionate wins between Smith and Scheffler and the wave of first-time winners like JJ Spaun, Luke List, Sepp Straka and Tom Hoge. It would be unusual for DJs, JTs, Morikawas to go through a full season without a win, and this could be the point where one of them comes out on top.
3. What do we see from Jordan Spieth? After his first ever-missed cut at masters, Spieth will tee off here for the third time in seven years. Interestingly, his ball possession has actually improved compared to last season when he finished in the top five in seven of his 25 appearances. However, his putter was frozen, and his usual wizarding short bout wasn’t quite as good as it should be. He’s someone I’ll be keeping a close eye on this week with the main season now in full swing.

It’s the ninth most powerful court we’ve seen this year and includes five of the top 10 players in the world, including Masters contenders from a week ago, Cameron Smith, Collin Morikawa and Justin Thomas.
