Visual Noise is an art fair designed to honor talented photographers whose graduation shows were disrupted due to COVID-19.
By lending its name and installation services to Visual Noise, Rankin’s involvement will attract attention from around the world. As an advocate for new talent, Rankin is helping elevate graduate programs from golden opportunities to missed opportunities.
Rankin’s first big break was an often retold yet well-written story. As Rankin said:
Like everyone in this industry, I had to start somewhere.
While creating and working with Stunned & Confused , Rankin received a call from Björk’s agency, asking him to shoot a scene. Apparently, Björk saw his magazine and connected with the aesthetic. For Rankin, this was his first celebrity commission, and it brought his work and magazine more attention than he could have dreamed of.
Along with curator Ellen Stone, of Public offering limited companyRankin decided that he could provide support to students who were experiencing the COVID-19 pandemic.
Visual Noise is giving me the opportunity to help the next generation, just like Björk did for me!
Although the show was shown in London at Maryland StudioPublic Offs Ltd. will give a digital catalog for viewers around the world to see.
As an added bonus, the fair will hold Legacy of War printing and selling t-shirts, with all profits from their sales going to their partner organizations in Ukraine.
