After months – damn, maybe year – rumor, Metroid Prime is remade has finally launched on Nintendo Switch as a digital download, with the physical version available later this month on February 22.

While many people seem Overjoyed with the remastered image In the game, an original developer from Retro Studios has expressed his displeasure with the way the new release handles the game’s doors.

Zoid Kirsch, who worked on Prime Minister Metroid And Metroid Prime 2: Echo as a Senior Game Engineer, spent considerable time creating the environment doors and has stated that the remake misapplied alpha levels, causing them to look quite different from with the original. Check out the tweet below (just pay attention to the colorful language used here!):

We can certainly understand why someone who has worked for so long on the original game would want to put in place certain changes made to the remake. However, Kirsch continued the statement in a separate tweet that he thinks the remake is “very well done” and says that you should all play it:

“Next up – the remake is amazingly well done. The improvements to Samus and the boss models are amazing. I just noticed this particular change stands out from the original. This is still the same. is a great remake and should be played and enjoyed.”

We’ll have our own thoughts on Metroid Prime Remastered in due course for a full review. In the meantime, be sure to check out our full coverage of everything announced during the latest Nintendo Direct rollout:
