Wild Hearts immersive PS5 haptic and trigger features in detail – PlayStation.Blog

If you want to be a great person Wild Heart Hunter, you must rely on all of your senses, not just sight, to track and take down your prey successfully. The sound of branches breaking far to your right, the heavy thud that sends vibrations through your body as your heavy feet hit the ground, all tell you clearly that a Kingtusk is walking through the woods. You have your weapon ready, check the bowstring pulsing with peace of mind in your hand. Are you ready.

This will give you a feel for how the PlayStation 5 DualSense wireless controller makes each and every hunt in Wild Hearts unforgettable. The hunt begins on February 17. Keep reading to discover what to expect when you step into the land of Azuma and face off against the mighty Kemono.

haptic feedback

The beauty of the land around you can be both a blessing and a distraction as you pursue your giant prey. Your touch can keep you steady, keep you focused on your pursuit, and provide you with vital feedback that can make the difference between victory and defeat. Whether you’re using Karakuri to dodge an attack or practice with your weapon in Minato, the haptic feedback will sometimes be louder than the roar of the mightiest Kemono.

A wooden gate – a bit old – blocks your way. You start pushing it through, but it’s surprisingly sturdy. Feel the resistance as it fought against you before, certainly giving way to your strength.

You chase your prey, jumping over bony roots and rocks scattered across the forest floor. It begins to outgrow you, but suddenly you see a spring Karakuri, a sure sign that luck is on your side today. You jump on it, feel the vibrations (thanks to your DualSense controller) as if through your own feet and quickly build valuable foundation.

Of course, not every sensation you experience through Haptics is actually necessary for the hunt. You may find spending time interacting with the gentler wildlife throughout Azuma both helpful and soothing. Make a new friend (or two) with a pat on the back.

As a hunter, you must be one with your chosen weapon. You have to know its weight, its speed, the feeling it makes when it comes into contact with your prey or when you shoot down an arrow. As you might expect, a giant mallet feels completely different than using a wagasa with thinner wings, and over time you’ll get to know each one better through the DualSense controller mine.

adaptive activation

You aim carefully, pausing just long enough to take a breath. Triggering a response when you’re ready to bow emphasizes its power, your commitment to protecting your people, and the respect you have for your giant prey. As you exhale, your arrows fly away, dealing Kingtusk one final, devastating blow.

3D sound

Azuma’s beauty goes beyond what you can see. All around you the sounds of nature fill the air. Birds chirping above you, the wind dancing through the bells making a soothing melody, the water gurgling softly. Enjoy the peace of nature sounds around you with realistic 3D sound. At least until that peace was broken by the roar of the enraged Kemono.

Life in Minato sets its own tone, made up of the voices of the villagers talking as they gossip or barter. Listen carefully and you may even be lucky enough to catch someone singing a folk song.

Hunting with friends

For some, the thrill of the hunt is best enjoyed alone. But even the deadliest hunter could face a monster they couldn’t take down on their own. In Wild Hearts, you can team up with up to two friends (or other players) to stalk and hunt your prey. Hunting in a group will allow you to expand your battle plan and special missions. And with Fast Loading, you’ll be able to experience the game with your friends even faster.
