Next-Gen Ford EV, Cadillac Escalade IQ, BMW EV V2X Test: Car News Today


Cadillac gives its long-anticipated Escalade EV a timeline and a badge. A utility company in California and BMW are teaming up to green the grid with V2X technology. And Ford likens its performance-focused three-row electric SUV, due out in 2025, to a “personal bullet train.” This and more, at Green Car Reports.

Don’t bother waiting for an electric Ford Expedition Lightning to complement the F-150 Lightning. Ford announced on Monday that Three-row electric SUV coming in 2025 will be a groundbreaking “personal bullet train”—with a comprehensive focus on efficiency resulting in 350 miles of range from a 100 kWh battery pack and 150 miles from a 10-minute charge.

In a completely different direction, Cadillac has announced plans to produce an all-electric version of its coveted large Escalade SUV. Luxury brand GM claims model, badged IQ scale and will be revealed later this year, will be “another kind of electric vehicle”.

And BMW and California’s Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) have built a smart charging partnership before with a pilot program (and later field trials) looking at How EVs can supplement home and grid energy. With a BMW i4, it could help to double the amount a typical home uses every day back to the grid—at peak times when it can help promote renewable energy use .
