This European summer, Honda is celebrating the return of the Wheels and Waves festival in Biarritz on France’s Basque coast with displays of some of the best European cars. Honda CMX Customs in both 500 and 1100 cc capacities, and there are builds from Spain, Portugal, Italy, France and England.

Portuguese dealer Motoveiga drew inspiration from the beauty of 16th-century Spanish armor and Florentine lilies for their CMX500 Rebel.

A hand-painted canister complemented with equal attention surrounds the headlights and clutch cover. A Vance and Hines silencer and leather seats add the finishing touch.

Lucy

Builder: Honda Garonda, Portugal

Lucy reflects the Portuguese sun and is the creation of Honda dealer Garonda.

The unique white gold paintwork, complete with the handcrafted Rebel logo on the fuel tank, is reflected in the use of white tires on the yellow wheels.

Having created the CB1100RS and CB1000R customizations, British bike builder Guy Willison continues his Honda journey with the Honda Rebel Street 5Four.

Inspired by urban lightweight street racing cars, the CMX500 ‘5Four’ wears a striking candy-red and ivory paint finish from Pro Kustom, shimmering in the sun.

Builders: MAAN, Motocicli Audaci, Sardinia

Custom builder Sardinia Motocicli Audaci, drew inspiration from the Sand Racers of the 1930s.

Designed and built in collaboration with the studios Nomade Cycle and Dave Design, the Mikuniguro is named after the horse of the Samurai Shogun Honda Tadakatsu, which, according to legend, was never injured in battle.

FCR Original wanted to bring out the pragmatic and playful side of the Rebel, but make it sportier, more muscular, and more aggressive.

A swingarm modification has allowed for black Öhlins rear shock absorbers, as well as 17-inch CB500F rear wheels and Dunlop D212 190/55-ZR17 tires.

Inspired by the ‘elemental’ design of the CMX1100, this version has a more custom feel, pushing it even further in terms of bobber style.

The swingarm and suspension remain the same, but are lowered 25mm at the front while the custom-built black 5-spoke wheels shod with fat Bridgestone tyres.

Making the bobber feel is an aluminum steering wheel, leather seats with perforated leather trim, a simple aluminum front fender with Mirrachrome finish and painted headlight trim.

The Mini-Bates FCR’s original LED indicators are neatly placed, and like the CMX Sport, 3D scanning has resulted in a custom polyester-carbon fuel tank – with a Mirrachrome/satin blue finish – and buffers of aluminum.
