Honda CMX Customs
This European summer, Honda is celebrating the return of the Wheels and Waves festival in Biarritz on France’s Basque coast with displays of some of the best European cars. Honda CMX Customs in both 500 and 1100 cc capacities, and there are builds from Spain, Portugal, Italy, France and England.
Motoveiga
Builder: Motoveiga, Braga, Portugal
Portuguese dealer Motoveiga drew inspiration from the beauty of 16th-century Spanish armor and Florentine lilies for their CMX500 Rebel.
A hand-painted canister complemented with equal attention surrounds the headlights and clutch cover. A Vance and Hines silencer and leather seats add the finishing touch.
Lucy
Builder: Honda Garonda, Portugal
Lucy reflects the Portuguese sun and is the creation of Honda dealer Garonda.
The unique white gold paintwork, complete with the handcrafted Rebel logo on the fuel tank, is reflected in the use of white tires on the yellow wheels.
Inspired by the classic CB175 of the late 60s and early 70s, Lucy is completed with an upgraded rear suspension, new grille and Vance and Hines silencers.
4 Honda Rebel Street
Builder: Guy Willison, 5four Motorcycles, UK
Having created the CB1100RS and CB1000R customizations, British bike builder Guy Willison continues his Honda journey with the Honda Rebel Street 5Four.
Inspired by urban lightweight street racing cars, the CMX500 ‘5Four’ wears a striking candy-red and ivory paint finish from Pro Kustom, shimmering in the sun.
Hand-crafted details are found throughout, including under-tray polished mirrors, Brazilian hardwood grips, racing rear end and stainless steel front number plate, complete with high/low headlights .
The look is completed with a unique titanium Racefit Urban Growler exhaust.
Maanboard
Builders: MAAN, Motocicli Audaci, Sardinia
Custom builder Sardinia Motocicli Audaci, drew inspiration from the Sand Racers of the 1930s.
The focus for customization is a completely reworked front suspension with spring forks, 19-inch spoke wheels and an all-stainless steel exhaust system, fitted with an SC-Project silencer.
A gorgeous candy-and-candy color scheme adorns the custom fuel tank and tailgate, with a new leather-wrapped steering wheel and seats completing the Mannboard’s look.
Akaimoto
Builder: Akaimoto, Barcelona, Spain
No stranger to Honda customization, having built the CB1000R and CB650R successfully, now Barcelona dealer Akaimoto has taken the look and feel of the CMX1100 Rebel to the next level.
Inspired by classic sport bikes and Honda’s Neo Sports Café lineup, these bikes feature custom bodywork, complete with a higher-positioned fuel tank and custom paintwork from home. Chopinart design.
The purposeful look is completed with a Kalex liner, upper clamp and a bespoke short silencer.
Mikuniguro
Builder: Ikono Motorbike, Madrid, Spain
Designed and built in collaboration with the studios Nomade Cycle and Dave Design, the Mikuniguro is named after the horse of the Samurai Shogun Honda Tadakatsu, which, according to legend, was never injured in battle.
Inspired by the Honda D-Type, brat style and Japanese Bobber trends, this CMX500 features a signature paint color from Dave Designs, who designed and painted the helmets for HRC riders Mark Marquéz and Pol Espargaró.
The Mikunigro also gets Vance and Hines mufflers, upgraded front and rear suspension, handlebars, micro LED taillights and indicator lights and travel forks.
Mallorca Moto
Builder: Mallorca Moto, Mallorca, Spain
There is no mistake looking at the Mallorca Motos CMX1100 Rebel.
Metallic green wrap, with matte black and white details accentuate the car’s angles and features including the fender, front fender, fuel tank and highly angled silencer. .
The Neo Retro-inspired bike is completed by a round mirror underneath, a modified CB300R muffler, fork, under-seat taillights, diamond-stitched saddle and sporty forward riding position. before.
Sport
Builder: FCR Original, Chauvigny, France
FCR Original wanted to bring out the pragmatic and playful side of the Rebel, but make it sportier, more muscular, and more aggressive.
A swingarm modification has allowed for black Öhlins rear shock absorbers, as well as 17-inch CB500F rear wheels and Dunlop D212 190/55-ZR17 tires.
The front fender is made in scratch and is 25mm lower; The oversized handlebars add more leverage while speed has been shifted to the top pin.
Stunning in its simplicity, the bodywork is the result of a complete 3D scan and includes a custom polyester-carbon fuel tank (with aluminum filler) and a rear seat unit with LED lights and Alcantara seats.
The hand-crafted footboard adds a racing feel, while the details and red/black paintwork pay a subtle homage to the classic Honda image. The engine is original, but breathes with a FCR Original stainless steel exhaust.
Bobber
Builder: FCR Original, Chauvigny, France
Inspired by the ‘elemental’ design of the CMX1100, this version has a more custom feel, pushing it even further in terms of bobber style.
The swingarm and suspension remain the same, but are lowered 25mm at the front while the custom-built black 5-spoke wheels shod with fat Bridgestone tyres.
Making the bobber feel is an aluminum steering wheel, leather seats with perforated leather trim, a simple aluminum front fender with Mirrachrome finish and painted headlight trim.
The Mini-Bates FCR’s original LED indicators are neatly placed, and like the CMX Sport, 3D scanning has resulted in a custom polyester-carbon fuel tank – with a Mirrachrome/satin blue finish – and buffers of aluminum.
The ceramic-coated FCR Original exhaust is the finishing touch.
Honda CMX Rebel Waves
Builder: FCR Original, Chauvigny, France
The third member of the ‘family’, FCR has revisited all of the original lines of the CMX500 to give it a whole new identity.
Inspired by the Wheels and Waves festival and Californian spirit, they removed the engine but changed the rear suspension, bars, indicator lights, front fenders, exhaust pipes, crates and racks rear luggage.
The whole car is finished with a striking blue and white paint with wave motifs on the fuel tank.
