Premier League: Conte, Tuchel receive red cards after Chelsea-Spurs derby

Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte and Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel were shown red cards after a collision following the 2-2 draw.

Tuchel and Conte have both been initially booked after joining together in Chelsea’s game against Spurs at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Chelsea were leading 1-0 thanks to a goal from Kalidou Koulibaly in the 19th minute but Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg equalized in the 68th minute.

The whole debate started after Kai Havertz felt that he was fouled by Spurs’ Rodrigo Bentancur about 90 minutes before scoring and his mentality was echoed by the entire Chelsea bench, including Tuchel, who was angry that the foul was not taken.

On the other hand, Conte got too close while celebrating the goal and there was a good chemistry between the two managers, which caused an oddity on the touchline.

Hojbjerg’s goal stood firm but both managers were arrested in the process.

Spurs’ joy was short-lived as Reece James put Chelsea ahead in the 77th minute after a superb Chelsea strike. The goal was celebrated by a lively celebration by Tuchel as he ran down the touchline.

All signs point to a Chelsea victory but Harry Kane broke Chelsea’s heart after equalizing with a brilliant header from a Spurs corner, in the 96th minute.

Both managers came to shake hands and exchange words. A struggle ensued and both benches joined to stop the fight. Anthony Taylor went straight to the managers and showed both men red cards.
