Preliminary specs GWM Cannon P12, P11 for Malaysia – 8AT, 2.0 turbodiesel; 163 hp, 400 Nm; AEB, ACC

Outside the Haval H6Great Wall Motor Malaysia has also provided preliminary specifications of the GWM . Cannon pickups come our way this year. The Cannon lineup includes two dual-cab models, the more passenger-focused P12 and the more commercial-focused P11.

P12 and P11 have the same cargo bed dimensions 1,520 mm long, 1,520 mm wide and 540 mm high. The same is true for the extended 3,230 mm wheelbase, but the exterior dimensions differ between both models.

According to the spec sheet, the P12 measures 5,410 mm long, 1,934 mm wide and 1,886 mm, while the P11 is 5,425 mm long, 1,883 mm wide and 1,882 mm tall. You can tell them apart by the front end, with the P12 featuring a chrome front grille with crossbars and model-specific headlights.

Meanwhile, the P11’s grille is softer, and its inserts feature a diamond-patterned mesh that radiates from the large badging. The headlights on the P11 also have a bit of a notch and lack the C-shaped daytime running lights like on the P12. Same goes for the rear, as the taillights of the P11 look simpler than those of the P12.

Inside, the air vents on the P12’s dashboard are oriented vertically, while the corner air vents of the P11 are designed differently. The center console was also previously decorated with a more shiny material to reflect the P12’s place in the lineup.

As for powertrains, both models are powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel engine that produces 163 PS (161 hp or 120 kW) and 400 Nm of torque. This is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and selectable four-wheel drive.

The similarities extend to the suspension setup, both using double wishbones at the front, while the rear has leaf springs. However, the P12 gets electric power steering and larger 18-inch alloy wheels (with 265/60 format tires) instead of the P11’s hydraulics and 17-inch alloy wheels (with 245 format tires). /70).

In terms of equipment, the P12 comes with differential lock, selectable driving modes, automatic LED headlights with follow me-home function, LED taillights, electric rearview mirror, integrated rear door step, seats leather upholstery, power front seats, gearshift paddles, 7-inch digital instrument cluster, 9-inch touchscreen overhead (with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support), automatic air conditioning (with vents) rear steam) as well as engine start and keyless start.

In terms of safety and driver assistance, the P12 is equipped with 6 airbags, 360-degree camera, electronic handbrake (with automatic brake hold), traffic sign recognition and level 2 semi-automatic features such as: adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning. , lane keep assist, lane centering and automatic emergency braking (AEB).

We didn’t get a full specs sheet of the P11 but based on our time with a test drive unit, the carriage missed out on some of the P12’s features such as a locking differential, control panel, etc. digital controls (same with multi-info display), dual power front seats (driver only), rear air vents and level 2 ADAS. However, it has a sunroof, this curious.

Of course, like with the Haval H6, the specifications mentioned here are not a complete representation of the final version that customers will receive here, although a local representative of GWM Malaysia told us that the specifications will not be very different from what we receive.
