Porsche releases limited edition, paint color inspired by … cream?

Porsche continues to find creative ways to honor its legacy. After release Puma shoes inspired by 911 Carrera RS 2.7it has teamed up with Chicago-based Pretty Cool Ice Cream to create limited edition flavored ice cream pops in honor of paint colors present and past.

The unlikely collaboration will celebrate National Ice Cream Day, which falls on July 17. Porsche and Pretty Cool Ice Cream started the project by looking for paint color Their name can reliably double as an ice cream flavor. Mint Green, Strawberry Red, Macadamia Metallic, Frozen Berry Metallic and Lime Gold made the cuts. Unsurprisingly Chalk, Lizard Green, Black Olive and Petrol Metallic Blue.

Each flavor is packaged in a package that shows how the color it’s named looks like on a car and provides basic details, like the year it was introduced, the model it opened. and paint code. Macadamia Metallic first appeared in 2006 on the 997 generation 911 and it was assigned paint code M8W. Mint Green appeared in 1991 on the 964-generation 911, and it was called the 22R internally.

If you’ve read this far without craving ice cream, a Porsche, or both (not at the same time; please pay attention to the upholstery), a description of each flavor will be helpful. Mint Green is a mint green cookie and ice cream with a mint green white chocolate crust. Strawberry Red is cream cheese cream dipped in a strawberry red crust and it’s made with real freeze-dried strawberries. Frozen Berry Metallic is a dark raspberry ice cream in a sparkling frozen berry-colored ruby chocolate crust. Finally, Lime Gold Metallic is a lemon cake ice cream with a sparkling lemon yellow caramel crust. Each pop box weighs 3.8 ounces, which sounds like a nod to the 6.8-liter one used in some 911s.

Ice cream is quite cool Lincoln The park location will sell limited edition ice cream on July 17; if you’re in the Chicago area, it’s the address located on 709 West Belden Avenue. Porsche notes that it will also offer pop-ups at some of its events by the end of 2022.

We don’t know if this will be a one-off collaboration or if Porsche-inspired flavors will be added to Pretty Cool Ice Cream’s flavor palette. If there were more stores to reveal, we’d recommend (and we humbly volunteer to try) Cognac Brown Metallic and Toffee Brown Metallic.
