Casey and Chris ride to the Island
The Australian Grand Prix Corporation recently invited Casey Stoner and Chris Vermeulen together on a new pair of Triumph Tiger Rally Pros for an outing to Phillip Island to promote the upcoming Australian Grand Prix.
It’s been ten years since Casey last raced around the beautiful Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, but the lap time was a bit slower this time around as he and Chris rode their adventure bikes.
Chris and Casey recount some of their racing memories at the track, and Casey points out some lines and anecdotes about how he drove the track that was named the great fork after him.
A two-time world champion, Stoner’s first home win in 2007 kicked off a streak of six straight wins at Phillip Island, with 2012 marking the last time he stood on the podium. Australia.
Riding the Triumph Tiger Rally Pros, the couple began their journey from Carlton’s iconic Lygon Street, making the 140km trek down the ‘Island’ against a backdrop of the rolling hills of South Gippsland.
