Photoshop’s Generative Fill: Overhyped or Changing Industry?
If you haven’t noticed and this is your first time hearing about it. Adobe releases beta version of Photoshop includes a new feature that lets you remove and add content using AI similar to Midjourney but packaged in the content-aware Fill-in style we’re all familiar with. The results of what it can do are already on the internet, including Fstoppers.
After watching a few videos, I had to try it myself. One thing I’ve noticed in many videos is that no one wants to zoom in whenever they’re creating content. They simply make something out of the picture and never take the results seriously. It feels a bit dishonest and more exaggerated than it should be. I tried using real-world photos I took and made sure to zoom in to show real-life use cases you might find in your own work.
The results I found will surprise you while also hopefully showing more real-world uses. Personally, I would use this straight away, but not necessarily for the reasons that make it headline. I’d love to know your own personal results if you’ve tried the beta and what you can see in terms of your own workflow changes below.
