Original 1993 Mazda RX-7 from Fast and Furious is up for auction


Auction Mecum is auctioning one 1993 Mazda RX-7 from The Fast and the Furious series this month.

Mecum estimates the car’s value to be between $175,000 and $250,000 ($262,231 to $375,187). It will be auctioned off this month in Indianapolis.

The RX-7, piloted by Vin Diesel in The Fast and the Furious, underwent a makeover for the 2003 2 Fast 2 Furious sequel, where it was piloted by Amaury Nolasco.

As for the sequel, it features a Versus body kit, yellow exterior graphics, a J-Spec fiberglass bonnet, RO_JA R2-5 wheels, a Greddy muffler and head, as well as a revised interior. change with LED strip.

It also has a flamethrower exhaust, which is still fitted to the vehicle.

The engine of the car is still original, with Mazda’s 13B 1.3L twin-turbo engine with a capacity of 190 kW, combined with a 5-speed manual transmission. However, the six-cylinder Toyota and four-cylinder Honda exhaust sounds were added during post-production.

New owners will receive paperwork including a VIN verification, proof the car starred in the movie, as well as an outfit worn by Orange actor Julius Amaury Nolasco.

Mecum said the RX-7 received US$40,000 (AU$59,675) for repairs and maintenance, including work on the transmission, engine and wiring.
